Macro Minerals & Close-up Crystals | Macro Photography Tutorial

For this shoot, we are taking a close up look at crystals. We will be shooting a slice of blue striped agate, amethyst crystals and a sample of aragonite from Morocco.

In this macro photography tutorial, we will be looking at the best ways to prepare reflective, translucent subjects like these crystals for shooting, and what can be accomplished using Adaptalux Studio lighting techniques.

With lots of reflective surfaces at different angles, this is not going to be a straight forward tutorial. Each of our 3 subjects requires a different lighting technique due to the nature of the natural mineral formations.
